United Against Anti-Asian Hate

Over the last year, the COVID-19 pandemic has devastated the lives of millions of Americans and continues to test our economic systems, medical institutions, and social cultures. But unfortunately, some within our country have responded with vitriol, hatred, and racist violence.

Since the beginning of the year, members of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community have been victims of unwarranted harassment, blatant discrimination, and even violent behavior, some of which has resulted in their tragic deaths. And while these horrific crimes have sadly been a continuing problem in our communities, these latest attacks have occurred and are increasing due to the rhetoric and misinformation surrounding COVID-19.

We are deeply alarmed and distraught by the recent violence that has been inflicted on the AAPI community and condemn anyone who participates in any anti-Asian racism or discrimination. We stand in solidarity with the Asian American community and are committed to fighting against anti-Asian prejudice in all aspects of our work and lives. Racism and violence cannot be tolerated, and we must value our diverse communities and the amazing contributions they bring to our society.

The work against racial injustice and brutality continues, even today; but we stand united with the AAPI community against it and will continue to do so until we can finally achieve respect and peace for everyone in our country.
